Commemoration in memory of Nissim Cohen who fell in the battle in southern Lebanon

Nissim, “Nisso” Cohen, late
1978-1958

Nisso was born in Rehovot on Tuesday, Tevet 579 (12/14/1958), son of Lachana
and Ezra Cohen.
Studied at ‘Ben Zvi’ elementary school and ‘Katzir’ middle school.
He completed his high school studies at ‘Ort’ high school, majoring in fine mechanics.

He was an outstanding student who won many scholarships due to his diligence in his studies.

 

Niso was a respected athlete and a sports fan in general, he excelled in swimming,

He played in the handball team ‘Hapoel Rehovot’ and the football team ‘Maccabi Shaareim’.

 

Niso was a Hebrew boyRuthiewho stood out in society with his mannerisms and the joy of life that was in him.

Loved literature, music, animals and an avid collector of stamps and coins.

When he was drafted into the IDF, he was sent to a mechanic course and was assigned to the Armed Forces as an APC mechanic.

On Friday Badr 2 1978 (March 15, 1978) during “Operation Litany”

Fell in a battle in southern Lebanon, the owner of the vehicle he was driving on a side load.
