Fell in Lebanon, 2nd of Elul 1993 (19.8.1993)

Assaf son of Miriam and Yona, brother to Eran and Roy,

Born on the 15th of Av 1972 (26.7.1972) in Rehovot.

Assaf studied at the “Tahkamoni” elementary school and completed his studies at the “South Yeshiva”.
He was an outstanding and brilliant student, with a quick perception and an extraordinary memory.

However, he was modest and humble, comfortable with people, accepted and loved by all.

The education he received was a combination of Safra and Seifa.

At the beginning of March 1991 Assaf was drafted into the IDF for the unit he chose – the “Golani” brigade.
He was sent to a medic course and attached to the division’s front company.

In August 1993, as part of an operational activity on the Lebanese border,
Assaf volunteered for a reconnaissance and ambush mission within the security strip.

In this activity Assaf was killed along with six of his friends.

Assaf fell on Thursday, the second of Elul 1993 (August 19, 1993).

He was twenty-one years old.
